Our aviation adventure continues in Ohio. Now we take a Robinson R44 Helicopter to Kentucky where we go skeet shooting. Flying a helicopter is something new for me, as I’ve never done it.

Follow along in this aviation vlog as we go from Ohio down to Kentucky, where we land in the middle of a skeet shooting course and have a fun day as a group of guys.

Flying fixed wing aircraft is of course what I do, but I’ve always had respect for helicopters. Many of the aerodynamic principles are the same, but of course there is a whole lot different. Yes, the blades create lift like a wing, but there’s certainly some additionally complexity that comes with the maneuverability of a helicopter.

But the view! Wow! Just nothing like it. The big canopy window of is like one, big, wrap around view. It makes for some great views, but also has a practical application in that it allows for visual maneuvering, which is paramount.

It’s pretty wild that you can just take off from the ramp, and that’s it… no taxi, no line up, just kinda… go!

We all had a really great time flying in the helicopter down to Kentucky, enjoying each others company for some skeet shooting, and simply committing aviation together.
