Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-05
Welcome to Angle of Attack. Before we go any further — read this. These are the terms you agree to when you use our website, our courses, or anything else we make. They’re written in plain English on purpose, but they’re still a legal contract. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
You’re the pilot in command. Your decisions, your responsibility.
1. Who we are
In these Terms, “we,” “us,” and “Angle of Attack” mean [BUSINESS ENTITY — confirm with Chris] (for example, “Angle of Attack Productions LLC”), a company headquartered in Homer, Alaska.
“You” means the person reading these Terms — whether you’re a free subscriber, a paid student, a CFI candidate, a guest visitor, or anyone else who interacts with what we publish.
“Services” means everything we offer under the Angle of Attack brand: angleofattack.com, learn.angleofattack.com, the courses we sell on Kajabi, our YouTube channel, AviatorCast podcast, free downloads and lead magnets, email newsletters, member communities, and any related app, page, or platform we own and operate.
Contact: info@angleofattack.com
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, buying a course, downloading a lead magnet, signing up for emails, or simply using the site — you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you’re using the Services on behalf of a flight school, business, or organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
If we change these Terms, we’ll post the new version with a new “Last updated” date. If the change is material, we’ll do our best to give you a heads-up — usually by email if you’re on our list, or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the new Terms.
3. What we provide
Angle of Attack publishes aviation education for student pilots, certificated pilots, and Certified Flight Instructors. The current product list includes (this can change without notice):
- Total Student Pilot — free intro course
- Private Pilot Ground School — paid online ground school
- Instrument Ground School — paid online ground school
- Commercial Ground School — paid online ground school
- Checkride ACE — checkride preparation
- TotalCFI — paid CFI training course
- Free articles, videos, podcasts, and downloads
Most paid courses are hosted on Kajabi (learn.angleofattack.com). Free content lives on YouTube, the AviatorCast podcast, and angleofattack.com.
We may add, remove, rename, re-price, or retire any product or piece of content at any time. We will not retroactively reduce access to a paid course you’ve already purchased except as described in Section 8 (Termination).
4. Aviation training disclaimer — read this carefully
Our content is educational. It is not a substitute for FAA-certified flight instruction.
Chris Palmer is a Certified Flight Instructor and has been working in aviation education since 2006. The frameworks, ground-school content, and study material we publish are designed to help you understand the knowledge areas and standards involved in becoming a safer, more capable pilot or instructor.
They do not replace any of the following, all of which are required by federal regulation:
- Logged dual instruction with an authorized instructor under 14 CFR Part 61 / 141
- Solo flight time and cross-country requirements
- Endorsements from your instructor
- Aeronautical knowledge tests administered by the FAA
- Practical (checkride) tests administered by an FAA-designated examiner
Our courses may help you prepare for these milestones. They do not, by themselves, satisfy them. You — not Angle of Attack — are responsible for:
- Knowing and complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- Verifying your medical, currency, and endorsement status before any flight
- The airworthiness of any aircraft you operate
- Every go/no-go decision and every action taken as pilot in command
We make every reasonable effort to keep our content accurate and aligned with current FAA standards (ACS, FAR/AIM, AC, etc.). Aviation is a regulated field that changes. The official source — FAA.gov, the current ACS, and your authorized instructor — always wins over anything we publish. If you spot something out of date, please tell us at info@angleofattack.com.
Aviation involves real risk. Nothing on Angle of Attack guarantees you will pass a checkride, become a safe pilot, become a great instructor, or avoid an accident. Outcomes depend on you.
5. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a course. If you’re under 18 but at least 13, you may use our free educational content with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf and to supervise your use.
We do not knowingly market to or collect data from children under 13. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Accounts and security
To buy a course or join member areas, you’ll create an account on Kajabi (or in some cases, on angleofattack.com). You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current information at sign-up
- Keep your password secure and not share your account
- Notify us at info@angleofattack.com if you believe your account has been compromised
Your login is for you. Course access is a personal, non-transferable license. Sharing your account with other students, your flight school, your spouse, your roommate, or the internet at large is a breach of these Terms and may result in termination without refund.
7. Purchases, billing, and refunds
How we charge
Course purchases are processed through Kajabi using Stripe (and in some cases PayPal) as the payment processor. We don’t store your full payment-card details on our own servers — Stripe / Kajabi handle that.
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars. If we offer a payment plan or recurring subscription, we’ll show you the schedule clearly before you check out. By completing the purchase you authorize us (through Kajabi/Stripe) to charge the agreed amount on the agreed schedule until paid in full or canceled.
Refunds
Most paid courses come with a 30-day money-back guarantee unless stated otherwise on the sales page or in a specific promotion. Specific guarantees that override the default:
- TotalCFI carries the [REVIEW] guarantee published on the cfi-course sales page: complete the curriculum and community exercises in good faith, and if you fail your CFI oral exam on the first attempt, we will refund your purchase and pay your re-test fee.
To request a refund, email info@angleofattack.com from the address on your account. Include your order details. Refunds are issued back to the original payment method.
After the guarantee window, all sales are final unless required by law in your jurisdiction. We may, at our discretion, issue partial credits or extend access in unusual circumstances.
Chargebacks
If you have a billing question, email us first. Filing a chargeback before contacting us — when we would have refunded you — is a breach of these Terms and may result in account termination and loss of access to all purchased content.
Taxes
Prices do not include any taxes that may apply in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for any sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar tax that applies to your purchase, except where Kajabi/Stripe collect it on our behalf.
8. Intellectual property
What we own
Everything we publish under the Angle of Attack brand — articles, videos, audio, slide decks, lesson plans, course outlines, lesson templates, downloadable PDFs, the Anti-Binder one-page lesson plan, software code, design system, logos, signature phrases (“Throttle On!”, “Restorative Airmanship,” “Day-One Ready”), and the Angle of Attack vintage aviator badge logo — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
What you can do with it
When you buy or are granted access to a course, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the course material for your own training. Specifically, you can:
- Stream and view the content for personal study
- Download materials we explicitly mark as downloadable (workbooks, lesson plan templates, etc.) for your personal use
What you can’t do
You may not:
- Share your login or course access with anyone else
- Re-upload, redistribute, host, or republish our content anywhere — public, private, free, or paid
- Use our materials to teach a paid course of your own without a written license from us
- Strip out our branding, copyright notices, or attribution
- Train, fine-tune, or build any AI / machine-learning model on our content
- Scrape, mass-download, or systematically extract content from our sites
Fair use and attribution
Quoting a short passage in your own article, podcast, or video — with clear attribution and a link back to us — is fine. If you want to do anything bigger (use a clip, embed a lesson, run a study group based on our material, etc.), email info@angleofattack.com and we’ll work it out.
Reporting infringement (DMCA)
If you believe content on our sites infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to info@angleofattack.com with: (1) your contact info, (2) the work you claim is infringed, (3) the URL of the allegedly infringing material, (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf, and (6) your physical or electronic signature.
9. Your content (UGC)
If you post comments on our blog, contribute to a member community or forum, send testimonials, or share study notes / questions with us — you keep ownership of what you wrote. You grant Angle of Attack a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute your contribution in connection with the Services and our marketing, with attribution where reasonable.
You agree your contributions will not:
- Violate any law, anyone’s rights, or our acceptable-use rules below
- Contain false statements, defamation, or impersonation
- Contain spam, malware, or phishing links
- Contain hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit material
- Disclose another person’s private information without their consent
We can remove content at our sole discretion, especially anything that compromises a learning environment for other students.
10. Acceptable use
Don’t do any of the following on or through the Services:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the platform
- Bypass paywalls, license checks, or technical restrictions
- Scrape, crawl, or use bots/automation against the site (other than well-behaved search engine indexing)
- Probe, scan, or attempt to compromise our security
- Send spam, phishing, or commercial messages through any community feature we provide
- Harass, threaten, or stalk other students or our team
- Use the Services to violate any law or regulation, including export controls and the FAA regulations we publish content about
11. Third-party services
The Services rely on third-party platforms including but not limited to Kajabi (course hosting), Stripe (payments), WP Engine (web hosting), Cloudflare (CDN), Google (analytics, email), YouTube (video), Meta (advertising pixel where used), email service providers, and others listed in our Privacy Policy.
Those third parties have their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, content, or practices. If a third-party service goes down (Kajabi outage, payment processor issue, etc.), we’ll do what we can — but those events are outside our direct control.
External links from our content lead to sites we don’t operate. We’re not responsible for what’s there.
12. SMS / text messaging policy [REVIEW — keep only if SMS is used]
If you opt in to text messages from Angle of Attack, you consent to receive automated marketing and transactional text messages at the number you provide. Message and data rates may apply. Frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, HELP for help. We do not share your mobile information or opt-in / consent data with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Services at any time. To delete your account, email info@angleofattack.com.
We can suspend or terminate your access — in whole or in part, with or without notice — if you (a) materially breach these Terms, (b) abuse refunds or chargebacks, (c) share your account or pirate our content, (d) put us, our team, or other students at risk, or (e) we’re required to by law.
If we terminate for cause under (a)–(d), you forfeit any remaining course access and you are not entitled to a refund. If we terminate without cause (for example, we sunset a product), we’ll either offer a comparable replacement or a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of any active subscription, at our reasonable discretion.
14. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE ABOVE, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
- THE INFORMATION OR CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT
- ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED
- THE SERVICES WILL CAUSE YOU TO PASS A CHECKRIDE, OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE OR RATING, BECOME A SAFE PILOT, OR PRODUCE ANY OTHER PARTICULAR OUTCOME
You assume all risk associated with your use of the Services and your aviation activities. See Section 4.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- IN NO EVENT WILL ANGLE OF ATTACK, CHRIS PALMER, OUR EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
- OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions don’t allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Angle of Attack, Chris Palmer, our team, and our affiliates from and against any third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Services, (b) your breach of these Terms, (c) your content, (d) your violation of any law or third-party right, or (e) your aviation activities.
17. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [GOVERNING LAW — confirm with Chris; default Alaska], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Informal resolution first
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to email info@angleofattack.com and give us 30 days to resolve the issue informally.
[REVIEW — Arbitration & class-action waiver — leave or strike per attorney]
Any dispute that can’t be resolved informally will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in [GOVERNING LAW — Chris’s preferred venue], except that either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court. You and Angle of Attack waive the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or any consolidated proceeding. This arbitration provision does not apply to claims for injunctive relief related to intellectual property infringement, which may be brought in state or federal court in the governing jurisdiction.
Venue (if no arbitration clause)
If the arbitration provision above is removed, struck down, or doesn’t apply, the exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in [GOVERNING LAW — Chris’s county/state], and you and Angle of Attack consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Time limit
Any claim must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose, to the extent permitted by law.
18. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any product-specific terms (e.g., a sales page guarantee), are the entire agreement between you and Angle of Attack regarding the Services.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You can’t assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We can assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all our assets.
- Force majeure. We’re not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (acts of God, internet failures, third-party platform outages, war, pandemic, government action, etc.).
- Headings. Are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
- Notices. We may send notices to the email address on your account; you can send notices to info@angleofattack.com.
19. Contact
Questions about these Terms? We’d rather answer than litigate.
