Alaska Discovery Flight — “Where do I sign up?!”

What’s it like to take a Discovery Flight in Alaska? This is a glimpse into a flight I took a few days with a new student, Ryan.

The idea of a Discovery Flight is to see if you like flying, and like your instructor. If you get lined up with the right person, then it’s an absolute blast, and most people want to keep going.

Ryan is currently building a place at an airstrip, but he doesn’t have his license. So, that’ll happen soon, probably this fall.

Before the Discovery Flight I also go over the steps to becoming a pilot, and what’s needed. It takes a lot of work, but it’s certainly worth it.

In this video you’ll also see some instruction. Make sure that you consult your own instructor, and don’t use this as a ‘real lesson’. Of course all information helps.
