The program manager must ensure that all employees who are responsible for maintenance related to program aircraft undergo appropriate initial and annual recurrent training and are competent to perform those duties.

Section 91.1111 — Maintenance training — requires specific training for maintenance personnel.
Maintenance training: A&P mechanics working on Subpart K aircraft receive aircraft-type-specific training, manufacturer-approved overhaul procedures training, and ongoing training in airworthiness directives and service bulletins.
